Room With a Past opens tonight! Just thought I’d share some photos of my shelf with you. Tomorrow you’ll see some of the other spaces in the shop. If you live in the East Bay, CA, area come see us!
I finally got around to listing the Texas Tag Necklaces that I brought back from Antique Alley. There are a few more that are on my shelf at Room With a Past. If they don’t sell, I’ll be listing them later this week. You can see these and a lot more in my Etsy shop.
Most of you probably already know that I make a lot of bracelets from old dog tags. From dog tag I moved on to start collecting other vintage tags. Now I even have friends bringing me tags that they find while they’re out shopping/hunting/picking/going through the trash/etc. I’ve even had people bring me bags of things and say, “I was going to throw this out but I thought you could make something out of it.” Almost like a challenge! And usually I do use it in some way. (I think I just have a small stash upstairs that I’m still trying to figure out what to do with!)
BTW, hubby couldn’t believe it the other day when I told him some people don’t like my jewelry. But not everyone wants to wear trash. lol… and I really don’t mind that people call my jewelry trash. But I prefer “Junque Jewelry.” 🙂
OK, not actually made out of theater seats. The centerpieces of these are old theater seat numbers. I found some 7s & 11s a few months back. I bought them because one of my Facebook friends had asked for a bracelet with #7 on it.
This one was nice & chunky and I even added a little “Made in U.S.A.” tag on the end.
Then I had a request for a bracelet in memory of a daughter who liked purple, her birthstone was citrine, born on 11/11, and she wanted to be an actress… seemed a perfect fit for this bracelet.
They think it’s noisy… so I try to do it when they’re not home. And since today was my day off, Glenn had to work, and Jordy went out to run errands, I got the stamps out.
And I got a LOT done! I had a few custom orders and some old favorites that had sold out so I made more. Plus I had ideas for some new necklaces.
I’d been planning the NAMES of JESUS necklace for a while. I’ve been looking for Alpha & Omega charms for a long time but couldn’t find any affordable. Then I ran across the Greek alphabet metal stamps. Perfect for this necklace. And now I can make sorority charms, too!
My next stamping project is going to be a medical ID bracelet!
